Goodnight

Today I put the garden to bed for winter.  It was all dead and weedy now any way. Still, it's sad to pull it all up and compost it.  It's so much more fun to plant it.

I have tons of outdoor work to do now.  I brought in a big hanging plant today and mowed the lawn.  I pulled lots of weeds.  Even the weeds are shutting down for winter.

I feel good about the work I did in the yard today.  If I could get a couple of hours in each day, I would make a lot of progress.  But I probably won't get any outdoor time tomorrow.  Maybe Saturday I'll get to work again.

I see we're on the same wavelength. I got home just before 5:30 and stayed outside for over an hour just watering. Everything is SO dry. I can't believe the thistles we have.....again. Persistent things, they are.

Saturday's my target date for cutting back and tidying up as well. And I must do something about that disgusting bird bath. :(

The outdoor work felt good to me, even though it was sad work. I put the tomato cages back into the cellar, all 7 of them. I pulled and got rid of my two giant weeds, even though I still don't know what they were. I'm wondering if I should put the bird bath away over winter. This is my first year to have one.

I'd say leave it out. The birds have such a tough time (in our area anyway) finding water and it's to important for them to keep their feathers clean for warmth. If there's a thaw, they'll sure appreciate it.
