Art Show
I spent a little time at the Art Show again this afternoon. It is gratifying to hear people say that they like my work. They like my pen and ink drawing of "The Smiling Squirrel" best of my entries. In a way this surprises me. My artist/librarian friend, Carolyn, assured me that I should enter that picture. I did so with mixed feelings. It's a rather busy drawing and a tree and its branches and background leaves with this big squirrel sitting on a branch and it's smiling. Quite a few people have told me how much they like the squirrel picture. Lynn told me so, too, but she said that she has mixed emotions about squirrels because it was a squirrel that chewed the wiring in their home two years ago when they weren't home and started a fire that burned their home to the ground, taking with it their pets and all the art that she and her husband had in the home. But she liked my picture any how.
