For the Birds

When I got my hair cut last Thursday, Virginia, who cuts my hair, had some dryer lint hanging outside near her bird feeder.  I asked her about it and she said that in the latest issue of Birds and Blooms there had been a tip about putting your dryer lint out for the birds to use for their nests.  It sounds like a good idea.  I've been taking some of my lint outside and it's disappearing.  Perhaps it's blowing away, but maybe birds are using it for their nests.

I used to have a subscription to Birds and Blooms and I miss it. I seem to recall my Mom doing the dryer lint thing, as well as bits and pieces of fabric and thread from her quilting -- oh, and dog hair. That'd be one soft, fuzzy, and colorful nest. :)
