Springtime
How much we wait for spring! Even before the groundhog does his thing in early February, we have started to feel eager to welcome spring. Now, it has arrived, and we're still waiting to welcome spring. Our weather continues to be one day after another of low temperatures, --so low that we feel the bite of the bitter cold air outdoors unless we are warmly bundled up. Even with winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves, we get too cold if we have to be out any length of time. Our greetings to one another usually contain comments on how awfully cold it is and include a hope that soon we will have warmer weather. And that's what I'll leave you with now, --surely as we head into April, the warmth of the sun will provide warmth to the ground and the spring flowers will bloom and thrive. I know that means yard work, but most of us are eager to get at it.

at 3/21/2006 8:20:54 PM- I always say the nicest thing about a March snow is that you can count on it to melt away rather quickly. I was wishing I had Nancy's photography skill this morning to try to capture the scene of my daffodils, crocus and hyacinth blooms poking through the snow. It was an interesting sight. But the day was so grey and cold. By the time I got motivated to go out with my camera, the snow had melted away. The grey sky and cold temp has remained and is forcasted to be here for the rest of the week. I'm thankful that my area missed the 2-4 feet of snow other areas received. A warm Spring day will, indeed, be very welcomed.

at 3/21/2006 8:34:17 PM- Brenda, I've been told that we may have more snow for tomorrow and it's not really welcome right now. I know we have to have three snows on the daffodils but I wish it weren't so. The daffodils are up now, about four inches, --no blooms yet. If you have a digital camera, it's easy to get pretty good pictures. You can download them to your computer and crop them to the best advantage.

Well we had a teaser this weekend, and the trees are all in bloom, and last night it did NOT freeze, but it is changing today, colder, wetter, nastier! SIGH! Spring is really late this year.
