Good News - Bad News

The good news from my home this morning is that Desy slept through the night after three nights of desparately needing to go out to the dog pen two or three times.  I know I can't complain because if she didn't wake me up to go out, I'd have a big problem to deal with.  But it's hard for me to get up during the night.  I rarely need to get up in the night myself.  So, Desy slept all night and I was pleased about that.

The bad news is that Rusty had to get up during the night.  He was desperate.  Again, no complaints about him telling me he had to go out, but I am so in need of sleeping through the night as usual.

I wonder if they have "Puppy Flu."  But I haven't heard anything about that going around.

I hope they're not sick! Maybe today/tonight will be a turnaround. Katie isn't as perky either, but I'm thinking she may be a little homesick. I need to take her over to visit her kinfolk!!

I just went through your photo album. Beautiful family, grandchildren, eggs, painting of your granddaughter, home, flowers (yard before the snow). I loved them all!! My favorite? Hmmm, the photo of the two brothers; their backs to the camera walking along side by side. I have one like that of Brittney and Ben down on the farm looking at the horses, holding hands when they were small. One of my very favorite pictures that I have, and I have it displayed in two places - that's how much I love it! Thank you for the mention of your album; don't know why I haven't visited before, but will be sure to keep watching for new ones. :)

Your eggs are LOVELY!! do you blow them yourself? what do you do with all the egg? they must be very fragile to store from year to year.

    What is Pysanky?

Mary Lou, I have a tool to blow out the eggs. It's called Aunt Margie's Egg Blowing Tool, ---I think. My mind sort of blanked out right now. Any way, it's a bulb with a sharp point inserted in once end. I make a hole in the narrow end of the egg, sti up the yolk with a long narrow wire, then poke a hole in the other end of blow the contents out. I have to discard the egg because the dyes are chemical dyes and absorb into the egg. I always feel bad about the waste but the chemical dye isn't good for eating. The eggs are varnished, which gives them a little more strength, but they are fragile, for sure. They sound like ping pong balls when they are knocked together a little. If they are dropped, they most surely will break.

Thanks, both of you, for checking out the pictures. I have so much enjoyed making the eggs, and I love taking the pictures, and I wish I could post them right here on the blog, but the next best thing is giving a link to Flickr.
