Merry Christmas

This morning I was told that it's been 10 years since Christmas was on a Sunday.  I personally don't remember that.  The celebration of Christmas is different when the date falls on a Sunday.  Our Christmas Eve service was well attended but our morning worship was not.  None of the families with small children came.  I think I wasn't surprised.

Our Christmas Eve service was standing room only (people were sitting on folding chairs in the foyer.) The morning service at 10am was also very crowded. They were good services.

Rosie, that's great that those services were well attended. That's the real meaning of Christmas, --to give thanks and worship Him for coming to us.

I thought it was really special to have church on Christmas. I almost am jealous of those denominations that do have services on Christmas day! It was a task to get everything done before 9:45 since they changed our one service to that time but it was worth it. And ours was very well attended with many many family members who were visiting. I wish we could do it every year. But then, my children are grown and not as anxious to open gifts. I still feel that there would be time to do that if one tried.

I thought it was special, too, to have the worship service on Christmas Day. Kids would be OK with it if they were taught about the importance of worship and putting God first. Gifts could be exchanged the day before, the day after, or even later in the afternoon of The Day. Thanks for commenting, Renee!
