The Bunny

I saw the bunny this morning!  It was still dark when we got up, --the dogs and I.  I let them out into the entry way that comes into the kitchen and as I went out with them, I looked out the door to the driveway before heading in the opposite direction to let the dogs into their pen.  There was the bunny, loping down my shoveled path from the car to the door.  At the house, s/he turned and ran alongside the front of the garage to the berry patch.  Perhaps its home is in the berry patch or under the garage on that side.  I know bunnies can be death to spring flowers and gardens, but this bunny was so cute!  Its big, long ears were standing up and it was intent on getting back to its hidey hole.  I don't think it saw me but it may have heard me stirring around in the house, opening the door  to the entry way.  The bunny looks healthy so it's getting something to eat!

I think that bunny has found a happy home with you. We'll just hope he/she will stay out of your flowers come spring. Merry Christmas Eve to you, and have a beautiful day, Nancy. God Bless!

A Christmas bunny! Thanks for posting about seeing it. I'm glad to hear that it looks healthy and seems to have a nice place to live. Maybe Santa will bring you short rabbit-proof fencing for your flowers? Could happen...

    Have a wonderful Christmas NJ!

Well, my dears, the thing about me and the bunny is that I rarely have problems with the bunny eating my flowers, --get this!!, because my back door neighbor has so much better than I grow!!! She always is having trouble with animals eating her vegetables and flowers. She has trouble with deer, bunnies, groundhogs and even moles! I've had a little problem. Deer ate my newest tulips and even took the tops out of my tomato plants, but Carolyn has much more of a problem than I do. I am sure it's because she has so much more variety and everything grows better for her. Still, I think about this bunny making a path from the berry patch to my porch steps. This could lead to flower munching in the spring. Well, everybody has to eat!
