An Axe?
As I came home from my grocery shopping spree, I got this great idea.
Why not get out the axe and chop the ice blocks out from under
the fenders behind the tires. I knew I'd have to be very careful
because I didn't want to chop the tires. It was too solid for me
to kick it loose, but I had the notion that the axe would do the job
well, --if I was careful.
I worked slowly and carefully. Once I bashed my finger against
the rim of the fender, but other than that, no problem. I had to
be gentle with the axe but it really did chip away the big blocks of
ice and left that area free again. Yeah!! I even picked up
the ice blocks and threw them out of the driveway. A job well
done, if I do say so myself. ![]()
I put the axe in a convenient place in the entry way to the kitchen.

I found some wood from the building of homes around here but no axe! My grandson is here with me now, and he fixed the place she got out. Yea for sweet little 14 year old boys trying to help MeMaw!!
God Bless you, Nancy.

The ice build up was under the front fenders and nowhere near the gas tank. The axe isn't really very sharp but was very effective in jarring the ice out of there. I thought I was very clever to get the ice out so easily. And Blogeois, we do live in a snow belt, so we often do have this much snow. Sometimes we don'thave it this heavy until January or February but we routinely get tons of snow. That's why our road crews have snow removal and winter road care down to a science. I don't remember when we had a green Christmas last. Snow is what happens in our area in winter!

It's warmer today and fender clogs would probably fall out if I went over a bump, like the railroad tracks! Funny poem. You made me laugh!

Is this much snow and ice normal for your area? Seems like you are getting a lot so far this winter...
