Rise and Shine
The thing about getting up early in winter is that it is so dark
outside. I can't see how much it snowed overnight. From
what I saw of the dog pen, I'd say that it didn't snow much. But,
I can see that the car is covered and the road crew has been out, so
I'm wondering what has happened out there since the sun went down
yesterday evening.
I'm always glad to see the first day of winter because it means to me
that the days will be getting longer each day, building to my favorite
time when June is here. It's so much easier to get up early in
the summer when the sun is up and the world is bright with light.
But today has as much promise as a sunny summer day and it's up to me
to rise and shine and be on the lookout for the blessings today will
bring.
