Myrtle Trees

I didn't really know what a myrtle tree looks like but I think I've seen them now.  I did look it up on the Internet and found a close up of the blooms but not a picture of the tree itself.  The blooms are really pretty.  I think I've seen the trees now and they are very pretty.  They are in bloom right now.

If you are referring to the Crape Myrtle, I have one in my front yard. They bloom all summer and the blooms will come in especially heavy if you prune them back in the fall. There are several trees in the myrtle family.

Lorraine, I think I am referring to Cerep Myrtle but I'm not at all sure that I'm right. These trees that I've seen are none of them very big but they have many pink, frilly blooms. We were guessing that probably Myrtle Beach was named for the trees.

Maryland has many crape myrtles. There were quite a lot in Texas too, all brightly blooming. I'd like to get one for our yard, but my husband says we can just look at the neighbor's.

I hope you get your Crepe Myrtle, Rosieposie. If it's the one I'm seeing, it has very pretty blossoms and it is't really a very big tree. It would be nice for a yard.
