Painted Rock Houses
Here is a sample of my painted rock houses. The little one in front is somewhat decorated for Christmas. It's one of my earlier houses and isn't as ornate as some of the later ones. My favorite is the barn. I've shown the side with our name over the door. The other side has the farmer in his overalls walking out of the door. It's kind of hard for me to find rocks which are the right size and shape to turn them into houses. Maybe I don't have enough imagination. There are rocks everywhere, surely many of them would make nice painted houses.

at 6/26/2005 10:32:11 PM- My daughter-in-law gave me a book about painting rocks into houses and I learned the techniques from the book. It has been a lot of fun. Making a quilt can be a very satisfying hobby. I hope you can do it.

Oh, the rocks are so beautiful!! You're so clever and talented. I SO need to get a hobby of some kind - can't paint or draw. I used to knit a little. I have been thinking on making a quilt top; the old fashioned kind using odds and ends. Then, I'd have to find someone to put the backing on, but, that shouldn't be a problem around here. Hope you're having a restful day. It's HOT here also; I keep hoping it will rain.
