I heard from Nancy last night.  She did have a good birthday. Among other things, she was at a concert and the orchestra played Happy Birthday and people sang it for her. She says it was a hoot!  She sent me a picture of her mother, who is now 94.  She looks good.  Her mom was the organist for our wedding.  She now plays the piano for residents at the retirement community/nursing home where she lives.

Here's to birthdays, and fond memories of good friends.

How wonderful to remain in touch with old friends like that! I moved so much when I was little that I have no idea where my childhood friends are. Occaisionally I will run into one of them as we travel around, but we were apart so long, that it seldom remains a true friendship. Pity That. I do however keep in touch with high school and college friends. And I Cherish those deeply, even though we may not see each other for long periods of time! I do see their PARENTS though, because they were usually retired Military, and shopped in my store!

Nancy and I didn't keep in touch for quite a long while, but some years ago when I found where she was, I got in touch with her and tried to stay in touch. As you say, it's wonderful to stay in touch with old friends.
